A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis on the Associated Effects of Static Magnetic Fields on Orthodontic Tooth Movement

Background: The literature on the use of static magnetic field (SMF), particularly in orthodontics, has certain gaps. Furthermore, mechanism by which SMF affects orthodontic tooth movement (OTM) is still unclear and quite contradictory. Thus, goal this systematic review meta-analysis was to assess SMF’s effect OTM. This study also sought analyse variability studies included analysis size impact Methods: Using PRISMA guidelines, reviewers implemented a search strategy across several online databases, filtering out initial articles that were obtained applying relevant inclusion exclusion criteria. Results: overall for odds ratio found be 0.58, with 95% confidence interval ranging from 0.40 0.86. indicates exposure fields associated significantly reduced likelihood animal analysed. Similarly, risk calculated 0.71, 0.55 0.91. suggests significant OTM, animals exposed being at lower experiencing substantial compared those not exposed. However, it important note moderate heterogeneity observed among studies. Conclusion: findings indicate there may causal relationship between OTM SMF. small number their poor methodological quality limit available data, highlighting need further well-designed research support these conclusions.
